Tot Shabbat
Tot Shabbat is a fun, interactive service geared toward pre-school children: 2 to 6 years of age. Children sing songs in both English and Hebrew while actively learning about Shabbat and the Jewish holidays. Songs, prayers, games, puppet play, marching with the Torahs and stories are used to instill a love of Judaism in our youngest congregants. The service concludes with children enjoying a light kiddush of grape juice, challah and raisins. Great time to meet and schmooze with other families with young children. All families with young children are welcome! For more information, or to get on the Tot Shabbat list, please contact Aaron Frankel.
Junior Congregation
Making davening fun is no small feat, but the BHBE Junior Congregation manages to do so each Shabbat for 2nd through 6th graders. They learn not just how to participate in meaningful Shabbat prayers, but what these mean and why prayer together is so important. Prayers are led by our large contingent of “regulars” who come together for in-depth, innovative activities based on the weekly Torah reading, unraveling our ancient text and making it meaningful, relevant and fun for all. All families welcome. For more information, or to get on the Jr. Congregation list, please contact Aaron Frankel.
